Born & Live...

I was born in Melbourne and spent most of my life in the inner city; my younger years were spent around Prahran and then I moved to Collingwood when I was 14 years old. My 20s were spent in the same hood and I first left the urban scene when I become Artist in Residence at Clifton Pugh’s estate in Hurstbridge, 1997 – 1999. After another stint in the leafy eastern suburbs, I moved to Daylesford in 2000 and have been here since.

I love photographing/painting...

Abstraction, especially the elements of water and air. I like to twist the division between art, design, sculpture, painting, photography and see where they overlap and where the gaps are.

I was trained...

I was trained at Prahran TAFE (film + video), Phillip Institute (which became RMIT Bundoora) in Painting, Printmaking and Photography and then Honors and Masters at RMIT, Media Arts.

I like to work…

With purpose. I need a deadline and a vision before I will start work. I generally work during daylight hours so to get the best light.

I decided to become an Artist when...

I was young. It was always something I did and I identified with being an artist when I was still at school. I couldn’t imagine not being an artist.

If for some (horrible) reason I couldn’t be an Artist/do my Art, I wouldn’t mind being…

An Architect.
